A bottle doesn't contain magnesium: it contains a magnesium salt. It doesn't contain ashwagandha either, it contains an extract, and how much of the actual compound is in there is a number somebody decided not to print. Here that number goes ahead of the name and ahead of the price, because it's the only one you can compare between two bottles.

What nobody tells you
The big number is almost never the number.
The bar is how much of the bottle is the thing you're buying. Where we have absorption research, a second solid layer shows how much of that actually arrives — that's the magnesium row. Where we don't, there's one layer and it says so. We're not going to invent the second one.

Ashwagandha: 600 mg of extract, 30 mg of the thing
KSM-66 is standardized to 5% withanolides, which are the compounds the research is actually about. That's 30 mg per serving out of 600. The number is on the label, which already puts it ahead of most of the aisle.

Magnesium: 2,500 mg of salt, 275 mg of magnesium
Glycinate carries 11% elemental magnesium by weight, and almost all of it arrives. Cheap bottles use oxide instead: 60% magnesium by weight, absorbed at under 5%. The big number on those labels writes itself, which is exactly why it's there.

Lion's Mane: standardized, and it says so
400 mg of polysaccharides per serving, standardized to 40%. Mushroom supplements are where the gap gets widest, because "mushroom" can mean fruiting body, mycelium, or the grain it grew on. When a bottle gives no percentage at all, the silence is the answer.

Resveratrol: only one of the two shapes counts
The studies are about trans-resveratrol. A 600 mg complex standardized to 50% gives 300 mg of it. A label that says "600 mg resveratrol" is telling you about the complex, not the compound.

How to take it
How much, and when
"Talk to your healthcare provider" is the sentence a store has to write before it will tell you how much to take. Here it is, and the numbers are the active compound, not the capsule weight.
Where to start
Half a dose for the first few days on anything new. If your gut is fine with it, go up. Doing it the other way round is how bottles end up unfinished.
First weekMagnesium glycinate
Glycinate is the form that's easiest on the stomach. Glycine is calming in its own right, which is the other half of the reason.
30-60 min before bedFat-soluble means with a meal
These three are absorbed with dietary fat. Taken on an empty stomach you're paying for milligrams that walk straight out.
Omega-3, D3, CoQ10Adaptogens are not painkillers
They work on a timescale of weeks. If something promises you a difference on day one, that's a claim nobody can make.
Ashwagandha, Lion's ManeAway from other minerals
Calcium and zinc compete with magnesium for the same transporter. If you take several, don't put them in the same serving.
